Signify Design and Lighting Academy hosted the 2nd edition of the Burlington Sessions, a CoCreate aimed at bringing together lighting artists & designers that inspire us, push the limits, and create a new language of lighting. This is a small group, by invitation only, of internationally recognized disruptors leading the way into the future of lighting.

These sessions are very hands-on, Signify shared some of the solutions we are developing in a very early stage, our guests were able to experiment and explore, and share their ideas on what/how would these concepts work for them and their customers.

Facets of Night: A Time-based Place

International Nighttime Design Initiative (NTD) is developing unique methodologies to intersect the everyday and aspirational, while harnessing the social experience of neighbors, workers, and owners­, bringing stakeholders together.  As “shades of night” focus on temporal rhythms from sunset to dawn, the “facets” signify lenses with which to study darkened urban public-space through local materials, built environment and inhabitation. We are inventing a system that that considers culture, climate, and geography to transform city nights one neighborhood at a time.

Join Leni Schwendiger's visual discourse regarding her team, the process of research, to innovate an overarching framework for global application of light with urban design. The objective is to improve after-dark experiences – inspiring, safer, healthier and economically vital.
