Privacy and your choices
How the tools handle your text, browser-saved plans and information you choose to send for AI analysis.

Tools that work in your browser
The word counter, entry planner and practice brief generator run in your browser. Typing in those tools does not send your working text or plan to our server or an AI service. The word counter does not save your text automatically.
If you choose “Save in this browser”, the planner stores one plan in local browser storage for 90 days. The saved record contains the fields and checklist items you entered. You can remove it with “Clear plan” or your browser’s site-data controls. Saving again refreshes the 90-day period. Downloads are files on your device and remain until you remove them.
The optional AI brief checker
When you confirm and press “Check the brief”, your pasted rules are sent to our WordPress server, then to OpenRouter and the AI provider serving Google Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite. This processing is needed to generate the checklist you requested. The service may process data outside your country.
Paste public competition rules, not personal details, confidential information or unpublished creative work. Our plugin does not store the submitted rules or the generated checklist in the WordPress database. It records aggregate request counts and service status to operate the tool and manage usage.
Requests ask OpenRouter to use providers whose declared data policy excludes collection of the prompt. OpenRouter and providers have their own policies and may process operational metadata. We do not promise that no information is retained anywhere in the service chain. Read OpenRouter’s privacy policy and its provider-policy explanation for more information.
Website operation and security
The host and security services process connection information, such as IP addresses, request times and browser details, to deliver and protect the site. Administrator sign-in uses WordPress cookies. Those operational records are separate from the text-processing behaviour of the tools.
Messages and external websites
If you contact us, your email provider and ours process your message. We use the information to respond and keep it only as needed for the enquiry and related records. Please avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed.
Links to organisers, published sources and Online Competition lead to separate websites with their own privacy notices. Clue does not send your saved planner data to those sites.
Your choices
You can use the manual tools without the AI checker, choose not to save a plan, clear saved site data or keep a downloaded copy yourself. For requests concerning personal information sent to us, contact the site using the published contact details. Depending on your location and the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase or restrict use of personal information, and to complain to your data-protection authority.
